Were you a child?

This happened in the middle of a spelling test:

Me: The word is child.

Student A raises his hand and asks, "Were you a child?"

I reply, "Yes."

Student B shouts out, "A long, long time ago!"

Two longs? Ouch.

Kids always tell it like it is!

Me: "What comes at the end of a sentence?"

Student: "A pyramid."

We are reading a book titled "The Costume Party." My students were sharing what costume they would want to wear.

"I want to be a ninja turtle."

"I want to be a ballerina."

"I want to be Spiderman."

"I want to be a policeman."

"I want to be a troll."

"I want to be rich."
